Elementary Literacy Night
In March of 2017, our elementary staff hosted a Family Literacy Night. The theme of the night was Reading is Our Thing!
The night focused on informing parents of how we teach literacy in our classrooms, giving families opportunities to engage in literacy activities, and offering a student book swap.
The evening began with parents in homerooms listening to how we teach literacy. After that, students were able to choose a free book to take home, and families walked around the school participating in the literacy events. There were technology, writing, literacy games, a book swap, a Dr. Seuss themed photo booth, and snack stations. Thank you to the over 600 who attended and to the teachers for putting in the additional time to make this night happen!
